Schools starting to deliver pink slips

Staff Writer

NASHUA – While pink slips have started going out to some school employees affected by next year’s projected budget cuts, it could be another two weeks before all notifications are sent.

Superintendent Mark Conrad said Thursday that secretaries and administrators have already been notified of layoffs. The district is eliminating three part-time secretary positions at the middle schools, as well as the secretary at the Phoenix Program.

Receiving a pink slip doesn’t necessarily mean employees will lose their jobs. It is a step the district must take to inform employees they could be laid off based on projected budget cuts for next year, Conrad said.
